New Die-Cut Gauge on $1 red Fox

U.S. specialist Craig Selig says he has found a new die-cut gauge on the recently reprinted self-adhesive $1 Red Fox definitive.

The new version gauges 11.8 by 11.1. Previous versions of the stamp were die-cut 11.6 by 11.5, according to Selig.

As noted in the June 17 issue of Stamp Collector, a variety of the $1 stamp - first issued Aug. 14, 1998 - was scheduled to start appearing at post offices in July. According to the USPS, 100 million were to be printed.
