Canada Unfurls Year of Ram Stamps, Sheet

CANADA UNFURLS YEAR OF RAM STAMPS, SHEET

On Jan. 3, for the seventh year in a row, Canada Post was scheduled to have delivered the first stamps of the new year's stamp program with an issue honoring the Year of the Ram.

Designer Rosina Li said that because there is no distinction between sheep and goats in Chinese, two different and contrasting animals are represented on the two stamps.

Sculptor Chris Reid added that a softer style of carving was used to emphasize the beauty and simplicity of the animal's form.
